Prayer

Historically, prayer has been a significant part of Hope Chapel's life.  We have entered into many different seasons and types of prayer in our 30 plus years of existence.  We have increased our commitment to prayer significantly over the last few years.  There are many types of prayer, many good resources to help us grow in prayer, and many events around our city where we can join others in prayer.  As  we develop this section of our web site, we will offer more of what, how and why we pray.  We will give specific references to other web sites where you may find resources and information about prayer.  But most of all, we encourage you to pray.  Pray as Jesus taught is in his model prayer for the disciples.  Prayer until the Kingdom comes.

In this section, and in others, you will find links to other sites and resources:

  • Austin House of Prayer (AHOP)  A community of believers dedicated to seeing a house of day and night prayer established in Austin, TX.
  • Campus House of Prayer (CHOP) A similar community of believers prayer for the University Campus
  • The Unceasing Prayer Initiative - a movement to unite churches of Austin to pray for the city.  The call is to each church to assume one day a month as their 24 hours to pray for our city.
  • Waymakers, International - a wonderful storehouse of resources for praying for your city, for the country, for your neighborhood, etc.  Sign up for a fresh breath of prayer...
  • Burn Austin - a group of believers committed to praying for the fire of God in our city.  They meet for a  24 hour prayer gathering one weekend a month.
  • iHOP (Kansas City) - House of day and night prayer which began in September of 1999 and is still going 24/7.  We like to go and be in their prayer room for a season.
